In a true international romance story, Jon and Becca first met in Armenia, during a summer archaeologicl dig.  The story continued when they returned to UConn.  Using an old fashioned and endearing approach, Jon first approached Becca's father for permission to marry her.  Then he crafted a romantic adventure to Block Island, described by the Nature Conservatory as one of "The Last Great Placer".  Block Island is a part of Rhode Island and located 13 miles south of the state, separated from Rhode Island by Block Island Sound.  On the blustery evening of May 18, Jon, in true romantic fashion, asked for Becca's hand on bended knee.  Fortunately, she accepted and his valiant efforts were rewarded.
